Charleston Tea Plantation consist of 127 acres on the Wadmalaw Island. The land on Wadmalaw Island is the prefect environment for propagating tea. The sandy soil along with the sub-tropical climate and rainfall provides the ideal environment for the Camellia Sinensis plant. This plant is currently used to produce both black and green teas and exists in over 320 varieties on the 127 acre grounds of the Charleston Tea Plantation.
You can take an enjoyable Trolley Ride through the tea fields. You can also take a Factory Tour and learn about the history, harvesting and production of the tea.

Irvin-House Vineyards

Irvin House Vineyards is Charleston's only domestic vineyard and winery. It covers 48 acres nestled between the majestic live oaks and was founded in 2001 by the Irwin family. Their main focus is producing wine using the native muscadine grape. The 2700 muscadine vines produce five varieties of wines. The wines range from semi-dry to the sweet muscadine reminiscent of the south. All wine is made and bottled on the premises.
The vineyard offers walking trails, a petting zoo, garden, large pond, and winery. There are self-guided tours through the vines and also wine tasting. It is also a great place to just relax and enjoy the scenery.
