Rainbow Row is the name for a row of thirteen colorful historic houses in Charleston. It is the longest cluster of Georgian row houses in the United States. These homes were built in the mid 18th century.
As the houses were being restored in the 1930s and 1940s they were painted with pastel colors, therefore the name "Rainbow Row:
Today, Rainbow Row consists of 14 private residences that are part of one of the most famous architectural landmarks in Charleston. It is considered to be the most photographed area of historic Charleston.
